Description Of VSI Crusher Tungsten Carbide Bars

VSI crushers — also known as sand making machines — are widely used in the mining, aggregate, cement, metallurgy, and hydropower industries for crushing hard and abrasive materials. The rotor tip is the core working component of the VSI crusher, and tungsten carbide bars are the critical wear elements that protect the rotor from wear and withstand high-speed impact. The bars are subjected to extreme conditions: impact velocities of 40–80 m/s, centrifugal forces up to 60 times the force of gravity, and high-frequency impact loading of 500–1,000 times per second.

The superior performance of VSI crusher tungsten carbide bars comes from the unique properties of the material. Tungsten carbide offers extreme hardness (HRA 86.5–92), high density (14.0–15.0 g/cm³), and excellent wear resistance that is 10 to 50 times that of traditional steel wear parts. The material also provides high transverse rupture strength (>3,000 N/mm²) and good impact resistance, enabling the bars to withstand the severe impact forces generated during high-speed crushing operations.

VSI crusher tungsten carbide bars are available in multiple grades to suit different crushing applications and material types. Higher hardness grades are recommended for hard, abrasive materials like granite, quartz porphyry, and high-grade iron ore. Grades with slightly lower hardness but higher toughness are suitable for medium-hard rocks like basalt, sandstone, and marble. The bars are available in various shapes including flat bars, bars with arc, and custom configurations.

Features Of VSI Crusher Tungsten Carbide Bars

Exceptional Wear Resistance: VSI crusher tungsten carbide bars offer wear resistance 10 to 50 times that of traditional steel wear parts. This significantly extends the service life of rotor tips and reduces the frequency of replacement, minimizing downtime and maintenance costs.

High Hardness: With hardness ranging from HRA 86.5 to 92, tungsten carbide bars maintain their cutting edges and wear surfaces under extreme abrasive conditions, ensuring consistent crushing performance throughout their service life.

High Transverse Rupture Strength (TRS): TRS values exceeding 3,000 N/mm² provide the strength needed to withstand the high-impact forces generated during VSI crusher operation, preventing premature fracture or breakage.

Good Impact Resistance: While maintaining high hardness, tungsten carbide bars are engineered to provide sufficient toughness to resist impact loading. HIP sintering ensures a uniform, dense microstructure with minimal porosity, delivering the toughness and impact resistance required for severe crushing applications.

High Density: With density ranging from 14.0 to 15.0 g/cm³, tungsten carbide bars provide excellent mass and stability during high-speed rotation, contributing to consistent crushing performance.

HIP Sintering Process: Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) sintering produces bars with uniform microstructure, minimal porosity, and superior mechanical properties, ensuring consistent quality and performance.

Customizable Sizes and Shapes: VSI crusher tungsten carbide bars are available in a wide range of sizes and shapes, including flat bars, bars with arc, and custom configurations. Size ranges include length up to 900mm, width up to 550mm, and thickness up to 140mm.
