CNC Deep Hole Tungsten Carbide Twist Drill Bit is a precision rotary cutting tool manufactured from ultra-fine grain tungsten carbide (WC) with a metallic cobalt binder through advanced powder metallurgy and HIP (Hot Isostatic Pressing) sintering processes. These drills are specifically designed for deep hole drilling on CNC machining centers, where length-to-diameter ratios typically exceed 5×D and can reach up to 30×D.
Deep hole drilling presents unique challenges: chip evacuation becomes difficult, heat accumulates rapidly, and the drill tends to wander or break due to high length-to-diameter ratios. Conventional high-speed steel (HSS) drills wear quickly and cannot maintain accuracy under these conditions. Tungsten carbide deep hole drills address these challenges through their extreme hardness (HRA 91–94), high rigidity, and internal coolant hole design.
The internal coolant holes (available in single or double configurations) deliver high-pressure coolant directly to the cutting edges, efficiently flushing chips out of the hole and dissipating heat.
