Q4: How long is your typical lead time for custom alloy components?
A4: Lead times vary depending on material complexity, machining workload and order size. We provide a confirmed timeline after reviewing your drawing and quantity requirements.
Q5: What forms can your metals be supplied in — sheets, rods, targets or finished machined parts?
A5: We provide raw stock including sheets, plates, rods, tubes and sputtering targets, plus fully machined finished components according to your demands.
Q6: How do you package fragile sputtering targets and precision metal components for international shipping?
A6: Fragile and precision products use shock-resistant custom packaging. We optimize packing to prevent deformation or surface damage during long-distance transport.
Q7: Do you have minimum order quantities on your refractory and non-ferrous metal products?
A7: MOQ differs between standard stock items and custom-machined goods. We aim to accommodate R&D customers with low-volume needs wherever feasible.
Q8: What should I provide when submitting an inquiry for a quotation?
A8: To speed up an accurate quote, share the material grade, required dimensions, quantity, drawings, purity demands, and target delivery schedule.
Q9: We’re a medical device company. If we order titanium bar stock, how do we know it hasn’t picked up iron contamination from your lathe?
A9: We machine titanium in a segregated area with dedicated tools. If your application requires it, we’ll add a passivation step and provide a surface-analysis report showing Fe, Cu, and Ni pickup below your threshold. We’ve done this for implant-grade orders before; the paperwork is routine for us.
Q10: We’re required by our customer to have independent third-party testing. Will you ship samples to SGS or an accredited lab on our behalf?
A10: Yes. We work with several accredited labs and can coordinate the sampling, chain of custody, and testing protocol. You get the original report directly from the lab, plus our internal data for comparison. If there’s a discrepancy, we investigate before anything ships.
Q11: If we order bar stock and it machines poorly—wrong hardness, stringy chips, poor finish—will you take it back or blame our tooling?
A11: We’ll take it back and figure out why. Sometimes it is tooling, but sometimes the heat treatment was off or the anneal cycle drifted. We’ll analyze the material, check our furnace logs, and if it’s our issue, we replace it. If it’s your speeds and feeds, we’ll connect you with a machinist who knows refractory metals.
