Description Of Tungsten Carbide Cultivator Points
Tungsten Carbide Cultivator Points are high-performance soil-engaging components manufactured from tungsten carbide (WC) with a metallic cobalt binder through powder metallurgy and advanced HIP (Hot Isostatic Pressing) sintering processes. These points are designed to be mounted on the shanks of cultivators, field cultivators, chisel plows, and other tillage equipment, effectively breaking, mixing, and aerating the soil while resisting the extreme abrasion and impact encountered in agricultural conditions.
Cultivator points work under some of the toughest conditions in agriculture — the combination of abrasive soil, hidden stones, compacted ground, and high operating speeds causes conventional steel points to wear out quickly. Frequent replacement not only increases costs but also causes significant downtime during critical tillage windows. Our tungsten carbide cultivator points precisely address these challenges.
Tungsten carbide is one of the hardest materials on earth, second only to diamond on the Mohs hardness scale. With hardness 3 to 5 times that of ordinary steel, tungsten carbide points maintain their cutting edge and structural integrity through abrasive, rocky, and compacted soil conditions. Field tests have shown carbide-tipped cultivator points last 5 to 8 times longer than conventional steel points.Available in multiple shapes and grades, they can be customized to specific soil types and operating conditions. All products are manufactured using 100% virgin tungsten carbide raw materials with full quality inspection and traceability.
Features Of Tungsten Carbide Cultivator Points
Extends Service Life by 5–8 Times: Tungsten carbide cultivator points offer service life 5 to 8 times that of conventional steel points. Field tests confirm carbide-tipped points last significantly longer through abrasive and rocky soils.
Extreme Hardness: With hardness ranging from HRA 85 to 90.5 — more than three times harder than ordinary steel — tungsten carbide points maintain sharp cutting edges through abrasive field conditions.
Superior Wear Resistance: Tungsten carbide provides exceptional resistance to abrasion from sand, gravel, and abrasive soils. Hardness up to 2,500 HV creates a durable "armor" protective layer that withstands intense friction.
High Impact Resistance: With transverse rupture strength (TRS) up to 3,000 MPa, tungsten carbide points withstand the impact of hidden stones and debris in the field without cracking or chipping.
High Density: With density ranging from 14.0 to 14.95 g/cm³, tungsten carbide cultivator points provide excellent mass and stability during high-speed tillage operations.
100% Virgin Raw Materials: Manufactured from 100% virgin tungsten carbide powder, ensuring consistent quality and superior performance.
Customizable Sizes and Shapes: Available in multiple shapes — standard point, wide sweep, chisel point, and custom designs — to suit different tillage applications and soil conditions.
100% Quality Inspection: All products undergo 100% full inspection to ensure consistent quality and performance. Sharpness and wear resistance testing is performed on each batch.
Applications Of Tungsten Carbide Cultivator Points
Secondary Tillage: Tungsten carbide cultivator points are widely used in secondary tillage operations for seedbed preparation, soil leveling, and residue mixing. They are installed on field cultivators, chisel plows, and combination tillage tools.
Stubble Cultivation: Carbide points are essential for stubble cultivation after harvest, cutting through crop residue and loosening soil for the next planting season. For stubble cultivators, the 80–50 mm carbide point features angular tungsten carbide plates that facilitate working in stony ground.
Soil Aeration and Mixing: Cultivator points break up compacted soil layers, improve soil structure, and incorporate crop residue, promoting better water infiltration and root development. Carbide sweeps effectively mix soil and residue.
Weed Control: Carbide points used on cultivators effectively cut weed roots, reducing herbicide dependency and promoting sustainable farming practices.
