Description Of High Performance Tungsten Carbide Bar

High Performance Tungsten Carbide Bar is a premium cylindrical or rectangular product manufactured from tungsten carbide (WC) with a metallic cobalt binder through advanced powder metallurgy and HIP (Hot Isostatic Pressing) sintering processes. The “high performance” designation reflects the use of ultra-fine grain tungsten carbide powder, optimized binder content, and stringent quality control to deliver exceptional hardness, wear resistance, and toughness for the most demanding industrial applications.

The manufacturing process begins with high-purity tungsten carbide powder (100% virgin raw material) with a grain size typically in the range of 0.2–0.8 μm, mixed with a cobalt binder. The powder is ball-milled, pressed into bar blanks, vacuum-sintered at high temperatures, and HIP-densified to achieve uniform microstructure and near-theoretical density. The sintered bars then undergo precision grinding, lapping, and polishing to achieve tight dimensional tolerances and smooth surface finishes.
