Description Of Beryllium Round Foil

Beryllium Round Foil is a thin, high-purity beryllium metal foil in a circular shape, specifically designed for X-ray window applications. Beryllium is a lightweight, silver-grey metal with a density of 1.848 g/cm³, excellent X-ray transmissivity, and superior mechanical strength. The round shape allows for direct mounting into X-ray detector windows without additional cutting or shaping.

Beryllium offers a unique combination of properties that make it ideal for X-ray window applications. With low density and low atomic number (Z=4), beryllium provides high transmissivity for low-energy X-rays, minimizing spectral contamination and improving detection sensitivity. The material also offers high strength even in thin gauges, excellent vacuum tightness, and good thermal stability.

High purity beryllium round foils are available in ultra-thin gauges from 8μm, with custom diameters and thicknesses available upon request. Surface finishes include as-rolled, vacuum-tight, and optically-dense. Typical applications include X-ray detectors (EDXRF, WDXRF, XRD), medical imaging systems, X-ray tubes, and analytical instruments.
