Description Of Niobium Plate & Sheet

Niobium Plate & Sheet are flat-rolled products manufactured from niobium and niobium alloys to ASTM B393 standard. Niobium is a silver-grey refractory metal with a melting point of 2477°C, excellent corrosion resistance, and superior superconducting properties. These products are essential in some of the most demanding applications, including superconducting particle accelerators, nuclear reactors, and high-temperature assemblies.

The ASTM B393 standard covers five grades of wrought niobium and niobium alloy strip, sheet, and plate: R04200-Type 1 (reactor grade unalloyed niobium), R04210-Type 2 (commercial grade unalloyed niobium), R04251-Type 3 (reactor grade niobium alloy containing 1% zirconium), R04261-Type 4 (commercial grade niobium alloy containing 1% zirconium), and R04220-Type 5 (RRR grade pure niobium).

Niobium plates and sheets are widely used in superconducting radio frequency (SRF) cavities for particle accelerators, where niobium's superconducting properties enable efficient acceleration of charged particles. They are also used in nuclear reactors, chemical processing equipment, semiconductor manufacturing, and high-temperature assemblies. Our niobium plates and sheets are available in thicknesses from 0.1mm to 50mm, widths up to 1000mm, and lengths up to 3000mm, with surface finishes including pickled, machined, polished, and annealed.
