Description Of Niobium Disc
Niobium Disc is a high-purity niobium metal disc manufactured from pure niobium (UNS R04200/R04210) to ASTM B393 standard. Niobium is a silver-grey refractory metal with a melting point of 2477°C, excellent corrosion resistance, and superior superconducting properties. These discs are widely used as sputtering targets, in nuclear reactors, and in superconducting applications.
Niobium offers a unique combination of properties that make it ideal for demanding applications. With a melting point of 2477°C (the fourth-highest among all elements, after tungsten, tantalum, and rhenium), niobium discs can withstand extreme temperatures. The material also offers outstanding corrosion resistance to acids, alkalis, and most chemical media, and it has superior superconducting properties, making it suitable for particle accelerators and MRI applications.
High purity niobium discs are available in custom diameters and thicknesses, with surface finishes including machined, polished, and annealed. Typical applications include sputtering targets for thin film deposition, nuclear reactor components, superconducting materials, and high-temperature assemblies.
