Description Of Small Wall Thickness Seamless Molybdenum Tube

Small Wall Thickness Seamless Molybdenum Tube is a precision-engineered tubular component manufactured from high-purity molybdenum (Mo1 grade, purity ≥99.95%) through powder metallurgy, extrusion, gun-drilling, swaging, drawing, and precision machining processes. The “small wall thickness” and “seamless” designations indicate that the tube has a thin wall (typically 0.2–3.0mm) and is produced without welded seams, ensuring uniform wall thickness, zero leakage, and excellent dimensional consistency.

Molybdenum offers a unique combination of properties that make it ideal for thin-wall seamless tube applications. With a melting point of 2610°C–2620°C (the third-highest among all elements, after tungsten and tantalum), molybdenum tubes can withstand high temperatures without softening or deformation. Its density of 10.2 g/cm³, excellent thermal conductivity (~138 W/m·K), and low coefficient of thermal expansion (5.1×10⁻⁶/K) ensure rapid thermal response and dimensional stability. Molybdenum also has low vapor pressure and low outgassing, making it suitable for vacuum and semiconductor applications.

Small wall thickness seamless molybdenum tubes are manufactured using seamless processes such as extrusion or gun-drilling, followed by swaging, drawing, and annealing to achieve the final dimensions and surface finish. The tubes can be supplied in bright, polished, pickled, or as-drawn surface conditions, with custom sizes and tolerances available upon request. TZM and MoLa alloys are available for applications requiring enhanced creep resistance or higher recrystallization temperatures.

These tubes are primarily used in thermocouple protection, high-temperature furnace components, sapphire crystal growth furnaces, semiconductor equipment, glass melting, and nuclear energy applications.

Features Of Small Wall Thickness Seamless Molybdenum Tube

Seamless Construction: Manufactured without welded seams, ensuring uniform wall thickness, zero leakage, and excellent dimensional consistency.

Small Wall Thickness: Wall thickness from 0.2mm reduces thermal mass and enables rapid thermal response, making it ideal for thermocouple protection and precision tube applications.

High Purity: Mo ≥ 99.95% (Mo1 grade) ensures minimal contamination in semiconductor, medical, and high-temperature applications.

High Melting Point: 2610°C–2620°C enables continuous operation at temperatures up to 1800°C in vacuum or inert gas atmospheres.

Excellent Thermal Conductivity: ~138 W/(m·K) ensures rapid heat transfer and uniform temperature distribution.

Low Vapor Pressure and Outgassing: Molybdenum does not evaporate significantly at operating temperatures and has low outgassing, making it suitable for vacuum and semiconductor applications.

Good Corrosion Resistance: Molybdenum resists corrosion from many molten metals, acids, and alkalis.

Customizable Dimensions: Outer diameter 3–100mm, wall thickness 0.2–3.0mm, length up to 2000mm. Custom sizes available upon request.

Multiple Grades Available: Available in Mo1, TZM, and MoLa alloys for different high-temperature and creep-resistance requirements.

Surface Finishes: Bright, polished, pickled, or as-drawn surfaces available.
