These bolts are specifically designed for use in high-temperature furnace environments, including vacuum furnaces, hydrogen furnaces, sintering furnaces, and sapphire crystal growth furnaces, where conventional steel or stainless steel fasteners would fail due to softening, oxidation, or creep.
Molybdenum offers a unique combination of properties that make it indispensable for high-temperature fastening applications. With a melting point of 2623°C (the third-highest among all elements, after tungsten and tantalum), molybdenum bolts maintain their mechanical strength and dimensional stability at operating temperatures up to 1800°C in vacuum or inert gas atmospheres.
