Description Of Cobalt Chromium Molybdenum Metal Alloy Plate
Cobalt Chromium Molybdenum Metal Alloy Plate, also known as CoCrMo plate or cobalt chrome molybdenum alloy plate, is a high-performance alloy plate manufactured from cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloys to ASTM F75 (cast) or ASTM F1537 (wrought) standards. CoCrMo alloys offer an exceptional combination of wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility, making them the material of choice for medical implants and demanding industrial applications.
The most common CoCrMo grades include ASTM F75 (UNS R30075), a cast cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy widely used for orthopedic implants; and ASTM F1537 (UNS R31537), a wrought cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy with improved mechanical properties for high-strength applications. Both grades offer excellent wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility.
Cobalt chromium molybdenum alloy plates are available in custom thicknesses, widths, and lengths, with surface finishes including machined, ground, and polished. Typical applications include medical implants (hip and knee replacements, dental prosthetics), aerospace components, and industrial wear parts (valve seats, pump components).
Features Of Cobalt Chromium Molybdenum Metal Alloy Plate
Excellent Wear Resistance: CoCrMo alloys offer superior wear resistance, extending service life in high-friction applications.
Outstanding Corrosion Resistance: Resists seawater, chlorides, acids, and body fluids.
Good Biocompatibility: Suitable for medical implant applications.
Superior High-Temperature Strength: Maintains mechanical strength and creep resistance at elevated temperatures.
Non-Magnetic: Suitable for applications requiring non-magnetic properties.
Non-Sparking: Suitable for use in hazardous environments.
Multiple Grades Available: ASTM F75 (cast) and ASTM F1537 (wrought).
Customizable Dimensions: Custom thickness, width, and length available.
Surface Finishes: Machined, ground, polished.
