Description Of Cobalt Chromium Alloy Strip
Cobalt Chromium Alloy Strip, also known as CoCr strip or cobalt chrome alloy custom strip, is a high-performance alloy strip manufactured from cobalt-chromium alloys to ASTM F90, AMS 5759, or ASTM F75 standards. Cobalt chromium alloys offer an exceptional combination of wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature strength, making them ideal for demanding applications in medical, aerospace, and industrial fields.
The most common cobalt chromium alloy grades include L-605 (UNS R30605), a cobalt-chromium-tungsten-nickel alloy with excellent high-temperature strength and wear resistance; MP35N (UNS R30035), a cobalt-chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy with exceptional corrosion resistance and fatigue strength; and Stellite 6, a cobalt-chromium-tungsten alloy with outstanding wear resistance.
Cobalt chromium alloy strips are available in custom thicknesses, widths, and lengths, with surface finishes including bright, pickled, polished, and annealed. Typical applications include medical implants (stents, orthopedic implants, dental prosthetics), aerospace components (turbine blades, combustion chambers), and industrial wear parts (valve seats, pump components, cutting tools).
Features Of Cobalt Chromium Alloy Strip
Excellent Wear Resistance: Cobalt chromium alloys offer superior wear resistance, extending service life in high-friction applications.
Outstanding Corrosion Resistance: Resists seawater, chlorides, acids, and body fluids.
Superior High-Temperature Strength: Maintains mechanical strength and creep resistance at elevated temperatures.
Good Biocompatibility: Suitable for medical implant applications.
Non-Magnetic: Suitable for applications requiring non-magnetic properties.
Non-Sparking: Suitable for use in hazardous environments.
Multiple Grades Available: L-605, MP35N, Stellite 6, and custom grades.
Customizable Dimensions: Custom thickness, width, and length available.
Applications Of Cobalt Chromium Alloy Strip
Medical Implants: Cobalt chromium alloy strips are used for coronary stents, orthopedic implants (hip and knee replacements), dental prosthetics, and surgical instruments.
Aerospace: CoCr strips are used for turbine blades, combustion chambers, and high-temperature structural components in aircraft engines.
Industrial Wear Parts: Used for valve seats, pump components, cutting tools, and wear-resistant liners.
Dental Applications: Used for dental prosthetics, crowns, bridges, and orthodontic wires.
Oil and Gas: Used for downhole tools and valve components, benefiting from their wear and corrosion resistance.
Automotive: Used for high-performance engine components and wear-resistant parts.
