Description Of ASTM B521 Tantalum Tube R05200

ASTM B521 Tantalum Tube R05200 is a seamless or welded tubular product manufactured from pure tantalum (UNS R05200) to ASTM B521 standard. Tantalum is a silver-grey refractory metal with a melting point of 2996°C, excellent corrosion resistance, and superior biocompatibility. These tubes are widely used in chemical processing equipment, medical devices, and analytical instruments.

Tantalum offers a unique combination of properties that make it ideal for tube applications. With a melting point of 2996°C (the fourth-highest among all metals, after tungsten, rhenium, and osmium), tantalum tubes can withstand extreme temperatures. The material also offers outstanding corrosion resistance to acids, alkalis, and most chemical media, and it is biocompatible, making it suitable for medical implant and device applications.

ASTM B521 tantalum tubes are available in custom outer diameters, wall thicknesses, and lengths, with surface finishes including bright, pickled, polished, and annealed. Typical applications include chemical processing equipment, medical devices, analytical instruments, and high-temperature sensors.
