Description Of Tribaloy T-400 Alloy Rod

Tribaloy T-400 Alloy Rod is a high-performance rod manufactured from Tribaloy T-400 (UNS R30400), a cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy known for its exceptional resistance to wear, galling, and corrosion. Unlike traditional cobalt alloys that rely on carbide precipitation for wear resistance, Tribaloy T-400 relies on a hard intermetallic Laves phase dispersed in a tough cobalt matrix.

Tribaloy T-400 contains approximately 8.5% chromium, 28.5% molybdenum, and 2.6% silicon. The Laves phase provides outstanding resistance to adhesive wear, abrasion, and galling, making it ideal for high-load and high-temperature applications. The alloy maintains its hardness and mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments.

Tribaloy T-400 alloy rods are available in custom diameters and lengths, with surface finishes including machined, ground, and polished. Typical applications include valve trim, pump sleeves, bearings, and hardfacing applications.
